At Annandale Terrace Elementary School, learning goes beyond the classroom! This field trip season, our students had the opportunity to explore, engage, and connect with exciting new experiences that brought their curriculum to life. Let’s take a look at the incredible adventures our students embarked on:

Kindergarten: A Day at Miller Farms

Our youngest learners kicked off their field trip season with a visit to Miller Farms in Virginia. They explored the wonders of agriculture, met friendly farm animals, and learned about the journey of food from farm to table. The highlight? Picking their very own pumpkins to take home!

1st Grade: Fun at Cox Farms

First graders had a blast at Cox Farms, where the rolling hills and fun-filled activities made for a memorable day. Students discussed the life cycle of plants and were able to take home their very own pumpkins!

3rd Grade: Discovering Nature at Huntley Meadows

Third graders stepped into nature at Huntley Meadows Park, a wetland sanctuary teeming with wildlife. They observed local plants and animals, walked along scenic boardwalks, and learned about ecosystems and conservation efforts. This hands-on experience deepened their understanding of the natural world.

4th Grade: Journey to Jamestown

Fourth grade students traveled back in time with their visit to Jamestown, Virginia’s first permanent English settlement. They explored replicas of ships, historical buildings, and Powhatan Indian villages while engaging with the stories and artifacts that shaped America’s early history.

Young Scholars: Innovation at Virginia Tech Thinkabit Lab

Our Young Scholars had the unique opportunity to visit the Virginia Tech Thinkabit Lab, where they explored engineering and technology through interactive workshops. They designed, built, and programmed robotic creations while diving into the exciting world of STEM careers.

Creating Lifelong Memories

Field trips like these are an essential part of our mission to inspire curiosity and connect learning to the real world. Whether it’s a farm, a historic site, or a tech lab, these experiences spark excitement, build understanding, and create memories our students will cherish for years to come.

We’re proud of the way our Annandale Terrace students embraced each adventure with enthusiasm and curiosity. Thank you to our teachers, staff, and parent volunteers who made these trips possible. Here's to many more adventures ahead!
